The Shreveport Coin Club regrets to inform you of the CANCELLATION of the annual Coin, Stamp & Card Expo which was to be held July 25th & 26th, 2020 due to uncertainty of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. We will be back in 2021, July 24th & 25th at the Bossier Civic Center. Thanks to everyone for your many years of support.
The Shreveport Coin Club offers many benefits to each of its members:
A monthly meeting that can enhance your collecting enjoyment.
A monthly newsletter with original articles and updates about our hobby.
A library of numismatic reference books (available on appointment).
Access to knowledgeable collectors who can help you with your collection.
Having a chance each month to examine a wide range of coins, tokens, medals and paper money from the US and around the world in a safe, friendly environment.
The Shreveport Coin Club is Northwest Louisiana area’s largest and longest-running coin club! We started back in 1963 and have been going strong ever since!
But we’re so much more than a group of coin collectors – our members also collect paper money, medals, tokens and numismatic books! (There may even be a few stamp collectors amongst us!) We have beginning collectors, advanced collectors and collectors at every stage in between – you’ll never be “out of place” as a member of the Shreveport Coin Club.
One of the strengths of the Shreveport Coin Club is the diversity of its members. With so many different areas of collecting interest among its membership, you’re sure to find a kindred spirit within our friendly group.
Wouldn’t it be great to find other collectors with whom you could…
Share your enthusiasm for the hobby?
Swap stories about your latest purchases?
Learn from or help educate?
You’ll find all of that and more once you’re part of the Shreveport Coin Club!
The club’s biggest project is the annual Ark-La-Tex Coin, Stamp & Card Exposition, which takes place on a weekend in late July. In recent years, over 50 numismatic dealers from several states have attended, offering patrons the biggest array of coins and currency they will find under one roof in three states (Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi) and one competitive with many shows in neighboring Texas. A smaller but very active contingent of stamp and sports card dealers round out the bourse floor, offering a wide variety of traditional and distinctive collectibles for all ages and interests.
The Ark-La-Tex Coin, Stamp & Card Expo also serves an educational mission, with exhibits on numismatic and philatelic topics. Recent exhibits have featured Morgan Dollars, northwest Louisiana exonumia (tokens, doubloons, scrips, etc.), autographs of Louisiana governors, exotic animals on international stamps, and other topics. Most exhibits are self-explanatory, but club members can direct patrons to exhibitors to answer their questions.
Our monthly meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Bossier Parish Library, Aulds Branch. See map for location of library.
